Where the serum and gel cream work deeper into the routine, this toner is the reset step immediately after cleansing — a lightweight, watery formula that the skin takes up almost instantly, leaving a plump, cooled surface that is ready to absorb everything applied on top. The texture is genuinely aqua-light, with no sticky residue, and a refreshing cooling sensation. It works equally well patted in by hand or applied with a cotton pad.

What distinguishes this toner from the rest of the Cica Calming line is the addition of gluconolactone (a PHA) and a four-fruit enzyme complex — papaya, apple, Japanese plum, and grape — that adds a gentle daily exfoliation function not present in the serum or gel cream. This mild surface renewal clears dead skin cells, refines texture, and improves how evenly the subsequent routine products absorb, without any of the irritation risk associated with AHAs or BHAs. The camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf water base carries antioxidant catechins with every application, while cape aloe (Aloe ferox), niacinamide, allantoin, and a nine-botanical extract blend (including chamomile, lavender, cornflower, and borage) keep the calming work consistent throughout.
